Two words to describe me: Resourceful and Happy

“We need women at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, to make sure women’s voices are heard and heeded, not overlooked and ignored.” – Sheryl Sandberg.”  –

I love fitness because it’s transformative of body and mind.

I am a native of Michigan and moved North to the Alpena area after graduating from Central Michigan University with a degree specializing in Health Fitness and Prevention. During college, I always wanted to teach group exercise classes instead of just taking them but didn’t know how to get started. Lucky for me, I began working at a start up with a serious passion for group exercise. My dream came true when I began teaching yoga in 2007 and can’t imagine life without it.

I started with Bay Athletic Club back in 2006 and as a longtime manager of the club, I’ve helped lead the business to success by directing the Corporate Fit Challenge program, locally and nationally, teaching classes and fostering the financial well-being of the organization. I love working at the club and seeing how much change in our culture and community can stem from spreading the love of fitness.

Fitness certifications: BS in Health Fitness and Prevention from Central Michigan University, ACE Personal Trainer Certified since 2007 and YogaFit certified since 2007.

In my downtime, I enjoy peace at home by the lake, time with my husband, Jody, and my special dog. I love the adventure of a great book and the breeze on my face taking a fast ride on my Cannondale on bike path along the Presque Isle Harbor. My favorite thing to do is to trail-blaze with a backpack full of supplies and set up a cook-out on a remote beach of Lake Huron.
